George McArthur, PhD
Director of Genetic Design-Build, Arzeda My team at Arzeda is responsible for the genetic design and build-out of DNA constructs to support 1) high-throughput screening of computationally designed proteins, 2) rapid prototyping and optimization of novel metabolic pathways and 3) development of superior platform and production strains. We use a variety of model-guided approaches for genetic design and employ the latest and greatest in DNA synthesis technology and methods for DNA assembly and genome editing for DNA and strain construction.
Before joining Arzeda, I was the Director of Product Development at GenoCAD, a software biotech startup, and a Whitaker International Fellow at Imperial College London's Centre for Synthetic Biology and Innovation. I earned my PhD in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University and my BS (Chem. Engr., Music and Biology) from the University of Virginia. |
